We're empty nesters! Plover chicks have fledged for the summer and the entire refuge beach is now open for public use. Night fishing will begin Friday August 15. Permits can be purchased at the gatehouse, visitor center, and using the automated fee kiosk by the Lot 1 restrooms.

Morone Saxatilis, our beloved finned companion with those distinctive stripes on their sides. The bite will just get better and better as larger pods of fish stage up along our beloved island named Plum. Fish will come and they will go, this time of the year there is no certain patterns yet. For a few days the guys would smoke them and then they would move on, going up river or up the coast to the next location. Only one way to find out ? No? Get off your butt, grab a dozen worms some clams and soak the bait, line up off the point and have some etiquette or walk the ocean front toss them jigs & plugs. Here's some pics of bass caught recently! If you haven't dusted off the gear I highly recommend you do shortly!
