Hello friends! It is with a heavy heart that I write this message…
Starting ENR almost a year and a half ago was a dream come true. I thought I had found my next chapter in life and worked tirelessly building it. Formulating a plan, building a website, finding a space (as a drummer looking to record this wasn’t easy!), designing and laying out the studio, talking with bands, bookings, recordings, video shoots, the whole “No-cost/get paid to record” concept, etc…it was all a great experience. I loved every session that came through the studio. I loved the people, the music and the end result of each of those sessions, all unique in their own way.
Unfortunately just after opening quite a few large financial events happened that made it a bit more of a challenge. This combined with some much needed sessions getting cancelled began to take its toll. I thought I would have to close the doors back in January or February, but I dug deep, skimped on groceries, even passed on paying my home mortgage a few months (there was savings to cover it but you get the idea) - the increases everywhere have many of us tightening the belt so to speak.
So, it is with great sadness that I have to announce that the ENR studio room will be closing July 1st. I will still be available to do some on-location recording or video shoots for groups that may want some multi-angle footage of a performance shot and edited. I may continue to figure out how to work with bands that have limited funding get the much needed “content” (ugh, nasty word) that’s needed in today’s demanding streaming style of consumption but I’ll cross that bridge when it comes. For now it’s packing and moving gear, trying to see through this dense fog and into the future, whatever that may hold.
In closing I’d like to thank my friends Spencer and Jen for their assistance with several of the projects that came through and a HUGE thank you to the bands and artists that took a chance coming into my little start up studio spot. It was truly a great pleasure to work with you all.
Keep making music! And every time you play, make sure you bring that Electric Energy that we at ENR we’re so happy to capture. ✌️❤️
