The Newington Art League will host a fundraiser from 3 to 11 p.m. Tuesday June 17 at Puerto Vallarta Restaurant, 2385 Berlin Turnpike. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Newington Art League’s community programs, art demonstrations and exhibitions.

The annual Memorial Day Parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 24. It will begin at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1655 Main Street, and is immediately followed by a ceremony honoring fallen veterans who were Newington residents in the parking lot between the Lucy Robbins Welles Library and Town Hall, 100 Garfield Street. Organizations and individuals interested in participating or sponsoring this event are invited to contact the parade committee via its website https://newingtonparade.com/contact-us.
