Sophomore Samantha De La Cruz brought home a first place finish for Orestimba in the 800-meters race with a time of 2:22.75.

The Orestimba track team competed at the TVL Varsity Championships on May 8, with the women’s team nabbing a fourth place finish out of seven teams and the men finishing in sixth place.

Gustine sophomores Jose Duran and Jonathan Guerrero took second and third, respectively and each set personal records in the 100-meters junior varsity race. Duran had a time of 13.68 and Guerrero had a time of 14.09.

Gustine High’s track and field team were able to rustle up some top ten finishes at the Southern Athletic League Finals at Waterford High School on May 7.
