Steve & Jason’s AI Chat: Rethinking Ethics, Relationships, and Community in the Age of AI. Steve Bowman and Jason Rutherford tackle the complexities of AI ethics, the impact of automation on relationships, and what it truly means to be human in a tech-driven world.

They explore how individual definitions of “good,” the rise of digital relationships, and the limits of AI mimicry should reshape both policy and leadership in business. The conversation dives into the future of work, the risks and power of AI in human connection, and why consciousness, trust, and “being” still set us apart from machines.

✅ Ethics are evolving: Leaders must define and revisit what “good” means as tech—and society—move faster than laws can keep up.

✅ Relationships matter more: AI can mimic connection but can’t replace loving presence, creative spark, or the subtlety of human trust.

✅ Balance is essential: Use AI for repetitive tasks, but prioritize humans for roles requiring empathy, complexity, and critical presence.

If you want to navigate technology with wisdom, build stronger communities, or protect what makes us human, this episode is a must-listen.

Have you ever considered that the path to success is not a straight line, but a winding journey filled with both challenges and triumphs? In the world of healthcare technology, especially when it comes to cybersecurity, this couldn't be more true.

As a cybersecurity expert at ITeeCMD, I've seen firsthand how many healthcare providers, particularly sole practitioners, underestimate the importance of HIPAA compliance and the risks associated with neglecting it. The consequences of non-compliance can be severe, including hefty fines that could jeopardize the very existence of a practice. But here's the silver lining: by accepting the challenges and embracing a proactive mindset, we can transform these obstacles into opportunities for growth and protection.

One of the key elements in this transformation is fostering psychological safety. It's crucial for healthcare providers to feel comfortable discussing cybersecurity concerns without fear of judgment. This openness paves the way for meaningful change and proactive measures.

To facilitate this shift, I advocate for the process model of behavior change. This involves modifying situations, redirecting attention, reframing appraisals, and altering responses. By doing so, we can move from reactive to proactive behaviors, setting clear cybersecurity goals and making public commitments to uphold them.

It's also important to adopt an incremental approach to implementing new technologies and processes. This not only makes the transition smoother but also ensures that each step is thoroughly understood and integrated into daily operations.

Continuous learning and regular security assessments are vital. They keep us informed and prepared, allowing us to stay ahead of potential threats rather than scrambling to react after the fact.

I encourage you to take a moment to self-assess your current practices. Are you being proactive or reactive? What steps can you take today to protect your business and empower your team?

If this resonates with you, I invite you to like this post or share your thoughts in the comments. Let's start a conversation about how we can collectively thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare technology.

Imagine standing in the eye of a storm, calm and collected, while chaos swirls around you. This is the essence of finding peace in resilience, especially in the world of healthcare technology and cybersecurity. As leaders in these fields, we are no strangers to the challenges that come our way. But what if we could transform these challenges into opportunities for growth and empowerment?

In the realm of healthcare, the stakes are high. Non-compliance with HIPAA regulations can lead to significant fines, particularly for sole practitioners who may underestimate their obligations. The key to avoiding these pitfalls lies in shifting our mindset from reactive to proactive. This means not just responding to threats as they arise, but anticipating them and taking steps to prevent them.

Creating a culture of psychological safety is crucial. It allows us to openly discuss cybersecurity concerns without fear, fostering an environment where proactive measures can thrive. By embracing a process model of behavior change, we can modify situations, redirect attention, and reframe our appraisals to alter our responses effectively.

Self-assessment is a powerful tool. By regularly evaluating our current practices, we can identify reactive behaviors and replace them with proactive strategies. This shift in language and mindset is essential for establishing clear, challenging cybersecurity goals. Public commitments to these goals can further reinforce our dedication to maintaining a secure environment.

Implementing new technologies and processes incrementally allows us to adapt and learn continuously. Regular security assessments ensure that we stay ahead of potential threats, turning cybersecurity into an ongoing effort rather than a one-time fix.

Let's commit to viewing cybersecurity as a proactive journey. By doing so, we not only protect our businesses but also empower ourselves and our teams to thrive in an ever-evolving landscape.

I invite you to reflect on your current practices and share your thoughts or experiences in the comments. Together, we can build a resilient future.
