Had the strangest request ever in my career as a magazine guy. I had a guy at the Volks Fair 25 in Deerfield New Hampshire come up to me and ask him to sign a copy of Hot VWs. I explained to him multiple times, that I had never been involved with that magazine or even written for them. He did not care, he wanted me to sign his copy. It was his car, and the story was shot and written by my good friend RK Smith. So I signed it,"Dan Leadbetter, VW Trends". That's one for the record books people.
