Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey joins Newton Mayor Marc Laredo for his inauguration at City Hall on January 1. Alongside the new mayor, the ceremony included the inauguration of several new City Councilors and School Committee members.

To make sure we all have time to enjoy the festive season, NewTV will be closed for several days at the end of December and beginning of January.

NewTV will be closed Wednesday, December 24, 2025, through Sunday, January 4, 2026. We will re-open on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 10:00AM for our normal business hours.

Congratulations to our Newton News Director, Jenn Adams, on her win of the Alliance for Community Media - Northeast Region Brian Wilson Mentor Award! 🏆 This award is presented to someone who has been an inspiration to others in a mentorship role in Community Media, and Jenn has been that for so many people.

Over 100 of her past interns have gone on to successful careers in broadcast media. Jenn teaches accountability, versatility, and integrity -- all of the qualities you find in top journalists.

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day to all who served! Today and every day, we honor your service and are humbled by the sacrifices you have made for your country. 🇺🇸

NewTV will be closed today, November 11th, in observance of the holiday. We will reopen tomorrow, November 12th at 10:00AM, for our normal business hours.

The City of Newton will hold a Veterans Day observance and ceremony at the American Legion Post 440 on November 11th, beginning with a donation drive at 10:00AM. The ceremony will begin at 11:00AM. Seth Bai, Director of Veterans Services, sat down at our news desk to make a special announcement about the Veterans Day observance in Newton. In the 28 years since NewTV's inception, the organization has experienced remarkable growth and expansion of its production services and equipment.
