Three generations of women help customers at Holland Floor Covering choose stylish, durable floors that fit their lives. Founded in 1975 by Judy and David Hansbarger, the family-run business is now led by their children—Pam (finance), David Jr. (installation and new construction), and Roger (sales and marketing)—with the third generation also part of the team.

Pam joined the company in 1994 after earning an accounting degree from Rider University. Despite living with multiple sclerosis, she continues to lead with strength and is planning to ride in the Bike MS City to Shore Ride 2025, Sept. 27–28.

Cakes and Community – Women of Distinction: Roxanne Fitzgerald’s Journey with Nothing Bundt Cakes ✨🍰

Roxanne Fitzgerald’s connection to Nothing Bundt Cakes began over 20 years ago when she gifted the treats to clients during her time in pharmaceutical sales in Las Vegas. Years later, after stepping away from the workforce to raise her three children, she saw the perfect opportunity to bring the brand she loved to Pennsylvania.

In 2017, she and her husband opened the first Nothing Bundt Cakes location in the state, right in Newtown. After two years of planning, the bakery opened its doors and now employs more than 20 people, with everything made fresh on-site. 🎂

Roxanne is deeply involved in the daily operations — from baking alongside her team during busy seasons to personally greeting guests. She believes success is about more than just cake; it’s about creating meaningful connections and giving back.

As a member of the Newtown Rotary Club, Roxanne supports a variety of nonprofit efforts and donates unsold cakes to local food pantries, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Her mission aligns with the company’s tagline: “bring the joy.” 💛

With fan favorites like red velvet and white chocolate raspberry, plus seasonal offerings like May’s lemon blueberry, the Newtown bakery continues to blend quality, heart, and community.

More than 40 talented students and alumni from BCCC’s Floral Design program worked tirelessly to bring their visionary ‘Florists of the Future’ exhibition to life.

Visitors stepped into the year 3025 and experienced floristry “like never before,” with ground breaking designs that push the boundaries of creativity and innovation.

“Together, we can do so much.” ✨❤️

Meet Linda Mitchell, Executive Director of NAC Have A Heart Foundation and this month’s Woman of Distinction. Based in Newtown, Linda leads with compassion, vision, and a mission to make real impact through advocacy and fundraising.

Her foundation has helped raise millions in support of ALS research, literacy programs, and vital health-related causes — all while uplifting our local community in ways that often go unseen.

To date, Linda says more than $5 million was raised for Augie’s Quest through Matt’s Mission and the Newtown Athletic Club. She adds that financial donations can be directed to specific causes.

Founder of the foundation and Board Chairman is Jim Worthington, NAC owner. Board of directors are: Matt Bellina, Cailtin Bellina, John Cordisco, Esq., and Brian Herman.

For three-plus years, the Foundation’s supporters have been dedicated to their “52k in 52 Weeks” initiative, donating $1,000-$5,000 each week to a different local charity or nonprofit. Linda says these organizations support a range of causes, including food banks, homeless shelters, animal rescues, youth programs and illness-related charities.

❤️🫀Have A Heart Foundation hosts an annual fundraising gala. Linda says this year the event will be held in September. “This event is attended by hundreds of local community supporters who appreciate supporting their own community through the work of the NAC Have a Heart Foundation.”
