Former Lawyer Turned Child Ra**st and Convicted Felon - Nicholas D’Angelo
Once considered to be a respected attorney and political figure in Niagara Falls, Nicholas D. D’Angelo has become one of Western New York’s most notorious and disgraced professionals in history - convicted of s*x crimes, stripped of his law license, and later found guilty of election fraud. His story is a striking example of power, manipulation and the long path to accountability.
D’Angelo’s downfall began in November of 2020, when a grand jury in Erie County indicted him on twelve felony counts involving the s*xual abuse and assault of three women. The accusations painted a disturbing picture of predatory behavior from a man who once held a position of authority as a licensed attorney. After more than two years of legal battles, D’Angelo stood before the court in April of 2024 and pleaded guilty to multiple s*x offenses, including 1st degree Sexual Abuse, 3rd degree R**e and 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Acts.
By July of 2023, Erie County Supreme Court Justice Debra Givens handed down the sentence - 6 months in jail and 10 years of probation under strict s*x offender supervision. The plea deal required D’Angelo to register as a s*x offender, a title that would soon be elevated when, later that year, a judge classified him as a level 3 offender, indicating a high risk of re-offending.
Just weeks before that sentencing, in June of 2023, the Appellate Division of the Fourth Department officially disbarred D’Angelo, striking his name from the roll of attorneys under Judiciary Law. The once ambitious lawyer, who had branded himself as a rising voice in local politics and media, was permanently barred from ever practicing law again in New York State.
While his s*x crime convictions were unfolding in Erie County, D’Angelo faced a separate felony case in Niagara County, tied to election-related fraud. That case lingered through 2023 and 2024 as plea negotiations continued. Ultimately, in January of 2025, D’Angelo pleaded guilty to a felony in that matter as well, admitting to the misconduct that further underscored his pattern of deceit and abuse of public trust. In April of 2025. He was sentenced to an intermittent jail term, allowing him to only serve time on the weekends.
Today, Nicholas D’Angelo stands as a convicted felon, a disbarred attorney and a level 3 registered s*x offender - a man who once used his law degree to influence and manipulate others, now defined entirely by the crimes he committed and the monster he turned out to be.
Where is Nicholas D’Angelo today? Is it only a matter of time until he re-offends? How can the public continue to protect themselves from such a vile criminal that continues to manage to evade incarceration?
Many Community Members in the Niagara Falls Community have claimed that Nicholas D’Angelo is responsible for running multiple “high profile” Facebook Media pages for the Niagara Falls area. It is strictly against Facebook policy for any convicted s*x offender to have any Facebook accounts. It raises major concerns if it is indeed the case that these organizations and pages are being run by a convicted felon with a history of manipulating and taking advantage of the public.
