The First Black-Owned Newspaper in Niagara Falls, NY
In October 2018, The Messenger of Niagara Falls, NY, was born. Feeling there was a need for a community-oriented media outlet, Founder and Executive Editor Jacob J. Fleming, Sr. tirelessly and single-handedly edited every article and laid out every picture and page in the inaugural 16-page issue that began being distributed in April of 2019. The Messenger of Niagara Falls, NY has become primarily available online. The Messenger of Niagara Falls, NY, is proud to have designed the one-page issue distributed as a flyer for Niagara Falls’ first-ever Juneteenth Celebration named “Freedom Day.” May of 2020, our editor-in-chief will direct us on a project that will focus on the struggles and rights of inmates in the penal system. A part of our society that has literally been discarded. To read the historical February 2020 inaugural issue please visit www.the-messenger-of-nf-ny.com/quarterly or for questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to email the editor-in-chief at [email protected]. Remember “we make the world a better place to read one thought at a time.”
