Highway Therapy In 2020, I lost my job when the world shut down, but it was an opportunity to start a new chapter in our lives.

We decided to sell our house, move into our camper full time, and travel the country. Turns out all we needed was a little Highway Therapy!

It's been awhile since our last travel video, but after the lessons we learned in this one, we're ready to get back on schedule!

We visited Yellowstone National Park back in August of 2020. In part 1, we discovered the park has it's own Grand Canyon, and in part 2, we finally get to see a couple of it's most iconic features. At the Grand Prismatic Spring, we learned why it's so important to stay on the boardwalks... unless you're a Bison. We also learned why you probably shouldn't wear a hat.

After a quick picnic (and some questionable fruit snacks), we got to witness the eruption of the world's most famous geyser, Old Faithful. Unfortunately, it wasn't as impressive as we thought it would be. It was right on time though, reminding me that sometimes, consistency means more than perfection.

Finally, the recent flooding in Yellowstone reminded everyone how destructive the forces of nature can be, but during our visit, Haley showed us what happens when you're brave enough to face the current.

After I lost my job back in 2020, we sold our house and bought a brand new 2021 Grand Design Reflection 31MB to live in and travel the country full time. Now that it's been two years, we'll show you how it's held up and give you an unbiased review of everything we love... and hate about this floorplan.

WE’RE BACK ON THE HIGHWAY!! It’s been a tough summer, and we were going crazy sitting in one place for so long. Now that we’re back on the road, everything just feel right again!

So many of you have checked in on us. I can’t tell you what a huge motivation that is. We’ll give you an update on YouTube this week, and then it’s back to our regular schedule! We love you guys!!

The windshield is bigger than the mirrors because you're supposed to focus on where you're going, not where you've been.

I know it's been a few weeks since our last YouTube video. There won't be one tonight either, and I'm sorry. Honestly, my mental health hasn't been great the past couple months. We had big plans for this summer but we had to put them on hold. First, our dog had surgery and we almost lost him... twice. Then our camper went into the shop for repairs, and after a year on the road, we finally realized that we didn't have a house to go back to. That hit us hard. When our plans changed, we'd lost our forward momentum, and all the worries we'd left behind finally caught up to us.

The truth is, even when you think you've found the right path in life, sometimes there are unexpected turns, and you have to know when to slow down before you crash. We're blessed to have the opportunity for new adventures every week, but we can't forget where we came from. That's part of our story too. Looking in the rearview isn't always a bad thing. It doesn't just show you where you've been, it also reminds you of who's following you. We have to lead them in the right direction, and we have to teach them how to get there safely.

We usually try to take the road less traveled, but there are some places everyone needs to see in their lifetime. Yellowstone National Park is one of those places. We stayed at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park and Cabins right outside the west entrance and we planned on getting an early start, but we woke up to find our main A/C unit wasn't working. A quick phone call to Grand Design RV helped us quickly figure out the problem and we were on our way, but by the time we got there, the main attractions were overflowing with people. That's when we discovered that Yellowstone has it's own Grand Canyon! We got a little lost, but we found the best view in the park, and Trish became overwhelmed with emotion... for good reason!

There's more to come from our visit to Yellowstone, so keep an eye out for part 2!

REAL TIME UPDATE: We're back in Tennessee for a few weeks before we hit the road again, and my cousin is about to get a taste of full-time RV life in his brand new 2021 Grand Design RV Reflection 312BHTS. With three kids, doing laundry in the rig is a necessity, so with the help of his father-in-law, we attempted to install a Splendide 2100XC washer/dryer combo.

I used to think laundry was no big deal since almost every campground has laundry facilities, but after a year on the road, I wish this was an option on our rig!

If you have a washer/dryer in your rig, did you let the shop install it or did you do it yourself? My cousin bought a brand new camper from Grand Design RV recently and we decided to tackle the project in his driveway. We had no idea what we were doing, and there might’ve been some collateral damage (like this trim piece), but we saved a TON of money! Check out the full install video TONIGHT @ 6pm EST!
