But is this really "worth" it?
We have enough clothes for 6 generations.
But still, 100 billion clothes are made each year.
The true price is paid by people you'll never meet, in places you'll never see. Until you do.

Bottega Veneta. This luxury brand deleted all its social media accounts in 2021. And still ranks as the 6th hottest brand in the world. Bottega Veneta, outperforming Gucci, Versace, and BALENCIAGA on the Lyst Index (Q4 2024).
Most brands depend on the algorithm. Bottega walked away from it and won. Under Matthieu Blazy, the brand stuck to an offline-first strategy that worked because it was built on fundamentals:
🟢 Exclusivity = Attention
In a world where everyone’s shouting, silence becomes a flex. Bottega’s absence creates intrigue.
Fan-run accounts like Data, But Make it Fashion and new bottega generate millions of impressions, doing the PR heavy-lifting for free.
🟢 Positioned as quiet luxury
While others fought for attention, Bottega stood out by doing the opposite.
That silence reinforced its image as premium, thoughtful, and not trend-chasing, the exact values luxury customers respond to.
🟢 Taking complete charge of the brand
By staying off social, they avoided inconsistent messaging, off-brand memes, or algorithm-driven creative compromises.
I’ve seen dozens of brands chase engagement.
Bottega chose restraint, and became a masterclass in modern luxury branding.
In a world addicted to visibility, Bottega is proof that true brand power doesn’t need to be loud. It just needs to be unforgettable.
