Costco for the win! Platinum band for my 10-year upgrade :)
Never thought to check Costco for rings, but after seeing a post raving about their jewelry, I decided to take a look. Ended up finding a simple 2.5 mm platinum band and just got it today—I’m obsessed!

It has such a nice weight and thickness (1.75mm in height, thicker than any of the other options I was considering), and the value is incredible. I love how it pairs with my solitaire for a clean, classic look, but when I want to dress it up a bit I can stack it with my original wedding band.

All of my rings are platinum, and I’m still over the moon about my 10-year upgrade (sourced the diamond from Weezie and had the setting custom-made). Feeling like Costco really came through on this one!

My Platinum Set from Lisa (Provence)
Just got my ring set from Lisa and I’m completely obsessed. The set is in platinum with 2.5mm bands for both the engagement ring and the wedding band, and the center stone is a 2 carat oval lab diamond (D, VS1) with tulip prongs. I wear a size 3 US.

This summer we have been married 30 years and i wanted to buy a ring that marked the occasion. I am so happy about it and can't stop staring at it. An oval has been a dream of mine for so long.

Specs on the stone is 3,02 carat,VS1,E colour on a size 7. It is the perfect size for my finger i think. It was from the AEAW store on aliexpress and i bought it during the sale. So i only paid a bit over 1000 US dollars. I have a lab wedding band from them and have always thought it was such great quality so i wanted to try a bigger stone. And wow it is stunning. The whole process was super.Around a week after i bought it i got a video of the finished ring. They shipped with fedex. A little error in customs with missing paper but they corrected that at once.So it did not get delayed. Photos don't do it justice at all. It is so beautiful. (English is not my first language so excuse any errors)

Frustration over attitude
Trying to work with local jewellers after purchasing your own lab diamond is a joke in sweden. Have contacted a few ones I like and get replies like "we don't work with synthetic stones".

Its a diamond. What is your damage? I mean I get if you dont want to do work (still ridicolous because we are talking about a $3000 or more setting probably) with stones you havent sourced as a jeweller or without certificate (which I will have) or something but this crappy attitude towards lab diamonds. It's such a ruse and obvious agitation because its taking a chunk out of their margins. Well. Im not paying 50 000 for my diamond. Im paying 800 and I will chose yo work with someone else then.

Is this a Swedish thing or a common attitude in more countries?

Calavera and the solution to shrinkage
I picked out this 4.34 ct oval - G, VS1 - and bought through Calavera. It's going to be a replacement for my wedding set. Almost 4.5 years since being widowed and I finally feel like I'm ready for something new. My engagement ring is a 1.82 center stone, and I have a 2.48 ct right hand ring. Both feel too small. Shrinkage is real! I met with my jeweler today and we talked about what I want my new ring to be. He pulled a couple rings from his displays based on what I talked about, I pointed out things I liked and didn't want, and he immediately started sketching. He turned the paper around and said, "something like this?"
It's going to be unique, a little funky, slightly chaotic. I can't wait to get the CAD, and to have this new piece on my finger!

Okay y’all! Got the temp ring holder in and my nails done.

This is making it really hard for me to pick between the two so husband is making me keep both, yay!!! Since I got it during the 30% off sale from Luvansh, it’s much more affordable. Girl math, am I right? 😂

I’m getting the marquise set by Tianyu along with a new wedding band. Heads up they are closed from January 21 to February 7 for Chinese new year, so the setting won’t get here until end of February at least. The waiting begins…

My husband updated my wedding set 🥹
5.1 ct oval solitaire, color F VVS2 with a 7 stone 1 ct band, we think the band looks too small so we are going to look for a larger one. I’m a size 12 finger.

Band was purchased from Luvansh- they resized it to a 12 for no additional money but the band is SO thin now.

The engagement ring was purchased from Daniel William and they charged 50 to make the ring my size and it is PERFECT, the quality is incredible. I would definitely recommend them over Luvansh for big hand girlies

I also included a photo of my band next to my six stone moissanite band from IMOLOVE on Amazon and wow I am actually so surprised how nice it looks in comparison! They are under $40!

And the last photo shows a comparison to my mined diamond ring that was passed down from my mom. It is a 1.7 center stone with halo totaling 2.35 cts. It is a G VS1-photo is awful as I had to have my husband take it 😅

im not sure how i feel about it. wondering if adding wedding bands will make it look smaller and less “fake” looking. its a 6.5 carat.
