It just killed me to see what were once beautiful pieces of furniture, rotting away, broken and sad. I just couldn't stand the thought of taking these 'diamonds in the rough' to the dump. I began repairing, refinishing and re-loving these items to make them useful and relevant again. This practice became a passion for me, and now I not only re-love pieces I find, but I also help people realize the

Ughh, this was brought in for me today. It smells delicious. But I know me, one bite and I’ll eat the entire thing. I’m super glad that smelling doesn’t have calories!

I’m trapped! Not sure if you can see that box at the bottom of the stairs but it’s a birthday present from my hubby that didn’t come when it was supposed to. I can’t leave so I don’t spoil the surprise! What do you think it is? P.S. I have to wait 1 week from tomorrow to see what it is. Luckily, someone will be home in a few hours to move it lol. I guess it’s a good thing it’s weight day and I don’t need to leave for a while!

*~* Meal Monday! *~*

When I told Hannah what I was having for lunch today she totally approved! Thanks for the support Hannie! Today's meal is 1/2 cup cottage cheese, some cucumber salad I made, and some chicken breast, all sprinkled with the best seasoning on earth - Everything But the Bagel! I've included a picture of the macros for those who track! Check out the protein ;) If you want the recipe to my cucumber salad, and just the macros for that, let me know!

Funny thing happened at the grocery store today! I went because I needed a few fresh things (I’m in a pantry/freezer shopping hiatus right now). So most of the items in my cart were fruits and veggies. This older lady (SO cute!) says, wow! Looks like you’re having company today! Me: no ma’am we just eat a lot of fruits and veggies. Her: oh to be living healthy like that! 😆😆😆 tickled me pink!

It’s shot day! Boy, I can sure tell when I’m coming due for this thing! I should be feeling pretty good again in a few days! I get this every 8 weeks, but start feeling my auto immune issues pretty badly again around week 6 or 7. Thanks to my girl for giving it to me! It’s going to be awesome to actually feel good for my birthday in June this year!

I'm so excited that it's coming into Farmer's Market season! I mean we have such good weather, that some of the towns have markets year round. I'm not really talking about those. I'm talking about the ones that are weekly, have lots of fruits and vegetable vendors, but also other vendors, like honey, baked goods, sauces, etc. Some of the markets around here have live music. The picture is of the Avila Beach Farmer's market that is on Fridays between 4-8pm from May through (I think) September? Anyway, we'll definitely be hitting up allll the markets this year. Do you have these in your area? Do you go to them? What's your favorite part?

Did you know that Chipotle Mexican Grill has an online nutrition calculator? My daughter texted me today asking if I'd like some Chipotle for lunch. Ummm yes, but then panic set in - what do I get? How many calories is it? Protein? Well if you head on over to their website, you can choose your options, and it'll tally the calories and protein right there! I like to go places like that already knowing what I'm getting so I don't cave and get something I don't really need. And in case you're wondering, she's getting me a burrito bowl with Chicken, light rice, no beans, fajita veggies, lettuce, tomato salsa and light cheese. 390 calories and 38 grams of protein! What's your favorite chain restaurant?

Sis and I had a great time yesterday after grocery shopping with the hubs! sloranchfarms had its very first Blueberry Festival and it was awesome. I don’t think they realized how busy it would be, because some of the ‘blueberry’ specials were out very early. But even with that, it was a great time and a beautiful venue.

Our medical system is broken! A rheumatologist (here, don't know about where you are) will only see you if your Primary Doctor refers you. It has nothing to do with my insurance, but the doctor themself will not see people without a primary doctor's referral. Last October my doctor was finally able to refer me to one. Having the ability to refer a patient is a whole other thing that require certain bloodwork results and case pleading. I call, get told to call back in 30 days. I call again, and then again, and by the 4th time I'm told that yes, I'm in their system, however they only have a part time rheumatologist, and that they would call me with an appointment. To wait, because it could be a couple of months. Well referrals don't last forever, and it expired. So my doctor gives me another referral, to the same place. I call again today and get told that they aren't taking any new patients. As a matter of fact, they don't even have the newest referral in their system anymore because they aren't taking new patients.

What the actual hell? So for the last 8 months I've been trying to get into this place only to be told they are taking no one? Yes, I have a call in to my doctor. I hear, from another one of my specialists, that the biggest issue is that the cost of living is super high here. Doctors can go elsewhere, live cheaper and make more money. I just find it to be a little screwed up. Y'all have those issues where you are?
