The hottest feeling air on Friday will run from the Capital Region on south in the Hudson valley...it's hot and very humid everywhere though, but increased cloud cover will tend to cap temperatures to some extent. A weak cold front will work through from NW to SE during the morning and early to mid afternoon. A few showers and t'storms with hit, but very hit or miss, so don't count on your lawn or garden getting watered.

Very warm to hot and humid into next week, but a change to cooler for a bunch of days appears likely by the start of August. Right now probabilities favor a period of cooler than average weather, which in early August means nice and pleasant.

Our next rain chance is Friday, scattered though which means hit or miss, typical for the summer. But I am looking at a potential for possibly a more widespread rain on Sunday with a fast moving low pressure system. By no means a lock this early as these small scale systems this time of the year are difficult to resolve and therefore difficult to model days in advance. But the signal is there for something more deeply rooted in the atmosphere to produce some heavier downpours/thunderstorms over a wider area which would be a good things since typical July surface dryness has become a thing in many areas. I'll have better detail on this as we get closer to Sunday.
