Thunderstorms again possible on Friday with a potential a few could be severe with the primary hazard being locally damaging wind. However, severe weather on Friday is not a slam dunk...there are a few parameters missing that could limit the potential. But, the atmosphere will become unstable with a lot of thunderstorm fuel...so any storms that do manage to form along the front will do so in an environment that will support damaging wind. Our threat window appears will run from 2-8pm from west to east across our area. Be weather alert and aware again on Friday.

Latest two hour radar animation indicates significant weakening of the showers and t'storms coming in from the west with that trend to continue through the evening.

⚠️ Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wayne, Delaware, Sullivan, Pike, Wyoming county until Jun 11 8:45PM. Localized damaging wind of at least 60 mph and/or 1" diameter hail is likely with this storm. Move away from windows and preferably to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building until the storm has passed.

This is what the t'storm looked like on radar at 2:44pm this afternoon when it was downing trees and producing hail in Livingston, Columbia County. This ultimately morphed into a small multi-cell complex that dropped SE into Litchfield and Dutchess counties where additional hail came down as well as some trees and powerlines, especially around Wingdale and Pawling

2 hour radar animation showing the progress of the showers and t'storms as they approach. The strongest storms with a severe weather/damaging wind threat continue in Delaware County. The northern showers and t'storms are weaker and may weaken further as they come down the Mohawk Valley. But some rain for the Mohawk Valley into the Capital Region through 10pm.
