It all started one evening while we were camping at Cloudland Canyon over Labor Day weekend. 😂

We were watching Brad’s latest video from Chattanooga Fish-N-Fun when he started talking about a truck camper he had for sale. And somehow, by the time we finished watching the video, **Brad had pretty much talked us into buying it!** 🤦‍♀️😂

Of course, Todd had to call and see if it was still available the next morning. Brad told us someone was coming to look at it, but if they didn’t leave a deposit, he’d let us know.

Well… **Brad called us!** 👀

A trip to Chattanooga, a few questions, and somehow we went from watching a video while camping to **bringing another truck camper home!** 😂

We weren’t even planning to go camping this Labor Day weekend… and then we somehow managed to snag a last-minute campsite! 😎🏕️

So, we packed up the truck camper and headed out for a few days of much-needed fun, rest and relaxation .

This trip had a little bit of everything… beautiful scenery, some exploring, a few surprises, and an unexpected run-in with friends we hadn’t planned on seeing, what a small world! Even better, we got to hang out with them, catch up, and enjoy the weekend together.

It was Carla’s first time at this particular spot, while Todd hadn’t been back in about 30 years. Needless to say, there were some memories and a few “Wow, I don’t remember it looking like this!” moments. 😂

We told you we had a good time at the Atlanta Camping & RV Show… now you can see what caught our attention! 👀
In our latest video we take you along as we go through the show and check out some of the campers, RVs, and interesting setups we saw along the way. We were bummed that there weren't any truck campers to see, but we still found a few things that were interesting!

From a really cool 4x4 camper van to a Tiffin B Plus and some interesting trailers, there were a few that made us stop and take a closer look. I mean who doesn't like to see what the inside of a new camper looks like. Sometimes they might surprise you.

🚤 We bought a boat… because apparently we needed another project. 😂

In our latest video, we show you our newest find, a boat that hopefully will eventually see the water! We haven’t gotten it running or out on the lake just yet, but we figured we’d start by showing you the boat in its current state… dirty, neglected, and looking like it has a few stories to tell. 😆

The big question is: Did we get a great deal (we tell you the price in the video), or did we just buy ourselves an expensive driveway ornament? 🤔

We enjoyed our time at the Atlanta Camping And Rv Show this weekend. We got to visit with our friends at Southland RV and Threeway Campers.

We also got to see one of the Keystone RV campers and one of the van builds by Live More Campervans in person.

We even got to meet several of our followers (we should have gotten photos with them) we really appreciate them stopping us to say hi!

Another truck, another chapter in the Runaway Roses truck camper evolution. 🚚🏕️

If you’ve been following us for a while, you know we’ve been through quite a few truck and truck camper combinations over the years. We’ve had everything from GMC to RAM to Ford trucks, and now we're on our latest setup - a Ford F-350 Chassis Cab with a flatbed and a Lance 1172.

So why this truck?

Honestly, it wasn’t about finding the biggest or most capable truck. It was about finding a setup that made sense for how we use our truck camper right now.

After looking at Ford and Ram chassis cab trucks in several classes and considering what we’ve learned from all of our previous setups, we settled on the F-350 Chassis Cab.

For now, anyway. 😉

Because if there’s one thing we’ve learned after years of truck camper ownership, it’s that “this is our setup for now” is probably a lot more accurate than “this is our forever setup.” 😂

Todd put together a video explaining why we chose the F-350 Chassis Cab along with some of the things we considered along the way.

And we thought it would be fun to share some photos of our previous trucks and truck camper setups in a post.

We do all of these truck camper modifications and upgrades for a reason, and it’s not just because we like tinkering! 😄

We recently upgraded the batteries in our camper, giving us a little more flexibility and peace of mind when we’re out camping. But ultimately, every upgrade we make has the same goal: spend less time worrying about the camper and more time enjoying where it takes us.

Because THIS is what it’s all about, getting the camper set up, finding a spot by the lake, and enjoying the camping experience. 🏕️🌊

The upgrades are fun… but getting out there is the real reward! ❤️

There's usually a reason behind every modification we make to our truck campers. If you've watched our channel for any length of time, you already know we don't recommend products just because someone sends them to us. We recommend products because we've used them, tested them, and genuinely believe they're worth our own money. If someone asks us for a recommendation, we're only going to suggest something that has earned our confidence through real-world use.

We're replacing the AC in our Lance 1172 Truck camper, but it's probably not why you think.

If you know us or have watched our channel, you know that the height of our garage has been a limitation for us. It limits the truck we have, the truck camper we have, the tires we have, etc. You get the picture.

That is why we decided to install the Houghton AC3400 on our Lance 1172. Not only is it much more low profile, it is also very efficient and super quiet. It also has a heat pump for those nights when it isn't 22 degrees, you can just kick on the heat pump to take the chill off and it keeps it toasty warm. And bonus, it has a dehumidifier and sleep timer in it. All that in a RV AC, who knew?!

Anyway, we're super excited for this upgrade. Stay tuned for the next video where we'll share the install with you. We'll see how it goes because if you saw us install the last one, it isn't a walk in the park. 😁🤣
