As adults, sometimes we unintentionally dismiss our children's feelings because we've experienced more life than they have.
But their experiences are real to them.
Telling them, "You don't know real stress," "You don't know real love," or "When I was your age..." may shut down communication instead of building trust.
Maybe the goal isn't to have all the answers. Maybe it's to listen, validate, and create a space where our children feel safe enough to keep talking to us.
