R. Manning Ancell R. Manning Ancell is a historical military author with a new book titled, The Leader's Bookshelf. He currently resides in Norfolk, VA.

Manning Ancell is a former disc jockey, television news reporter, magazine publisher, freelance writer, and author or co-author of nine books. Over the last 40 years, he has interviewed and corresponded with more four-star generals and admirals than anyone in American history. First published in New Mexico Magazine at the age of eighteen, Ancell is the author of more than 200 articles in magazines

, newspapers and journals and six books. He is well traveled, having visited forty-four of the fifty states, and he has been listed in Who’s Who in America for about 30 years. He currently resides with his wife, Dr. Christine Miller, in Norfolk, Virginia. His most current book The Leader's Bookshelf is co-authored by Admiral James G. Stavridis, a former Supreme Allied Commander in Europe and dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. It was published by the United States Naval Institute press and continues to be a best seller on Amazon.com.
