Whats good HRBRAA family, we are about 2 months away from the National Black Radio Hall of Fame 2026 induction ceremony to be held at the Sonesta Hotel & Resort Charlotte NC this year. The date is Sat. Sept. 19th. The weekend starts on that Friday Sept. 18th with the meet and greet. As Chairman, this year Iam proud to announce that HRBRAA-Va. Chapter of The National Black Radio Hall of Fame will have 5 inductees.

We would like to congratulate all of our Hampton Roads and media inductee professionals on a job well done. When I was inducted last year, it was such a moving experience. For me it was that long awaited exclamation mark, granting acceptance and excellence to my 40+ years in the industry. This will their time to shine and well deserved. If you would like to attend the Hall of Fame, seats are now OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. There are still tables available, along with the discounted hotel rate. I would like to see Hpt. Rds. show out for our inductees because they do go around the room to see who's in the house.

This is Hpt. Roads history and this is setting in play a legacy, not only for the inductee, but the families and the community. Their likeness will be forever displayed at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis Mo. The home of The National Black Radio Hall of Fame in the beautiful Hall of Fame library.

I will send out another reminder in about 30 days or until the event sells out. I look forward to seeing as many of you in Charlotte that can attend for a great weekend of celebration and industry networking. This is the first milestone of many others to come for The Virginia Chapter of The National Black Radio Hall of Fame.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Mothers, Nanas, Grandmothers, and Sadie Maes.
Today we celebrate the women who have been the heartbeats of our families and the foundation of our homes. The ones who prayed for us when we didn’t even know we needed prayer… who sacrificed quietly, loved unconditionally, and carried generations with strength, grace, and wisdom.

To the Mothers who nurtured us, the Nanas and Grandmas who spoiled us with love and life lessons, and the “Sadie Maes” — those beautiful matriarchs whose warmth, faith, cooking, hugs, and words of encouragement made every house feel like home — we honor you today.

You are the backbone of our families.
You are the keepers of tradition.
You are the shoulders we leaned on and the voices that reminded us to keep going.
