Our middle-grade novels are “true fiction” in which true-to-life characters confront contemporary conflicts and portray natural reactions that lead to logical consequences. “True fiction” evokes true emotions as it reveals honest discoveries and realistic outcomes. It established Nesting Tree Books in 2011 to publish books by children in order to encourage and teach kids to write for publication.

Hoping that summer 2025 sees the publication of my sequel to the award-winning, "A Twist in Time." Still not sure what its title will be, but I'm leaning toward "Time Tossed," or "Scrambled!" Here's what it is about: Emily Sorenson, who was jolted a hundred years into the future in “A Twist in Time” has a younger brother, David, who can’t wait to do the same. Yet, he waits until his 13th birthday, thirteen being the “magic” number, and goes into Morrison’s Cave, the “Magic” place in the hopes of jumping to the 21st century where he will be able to fly in airplanes, carry a telephone in his pocket, but not just any phone, one that can give information, show movies, and let him play all kinds of games. But, oops! Instead of being time-tossed to the next century, he is thrown back one and trades places with a Cheyenne Indian boy in the year, 1824. Emily, feeling responsible, tries to find David and is, once again, moved forward to 2024, sending ultra-rich and beautiful Madison Clark back to the nineteen hundreds.

Had a great time in Dillon yesterday. Sold some books, talked to a lot of delightful people, made new friends, and had a lovely drive there and back in beautiful weather even though the ride over was mostly in the dark.

Published on Amazon in the Kindle Store: The Maisewith four-book series by Rachael Reeves (a nom de plume)

Adopted at birth when her Iranian father and Nigerian mother were killed in a car crash, Maisewith Reems was raised in a strict environment as an only child, her only nurturer, her nanny. Jadith, her adoptive mother, is a neuroscientist, and her father, Jedd Reems, a specialist in artificial intelligence. They lead her to believe she is very flawed, requiring many brain surgeries beginning at age three. With the Reems, she escaped the dying Earth at age six, and lived on the planet Costra, one of three habitable planets of a binary star system. Book one begins on Maisewith’s 18th birthday when she finds herself alone on a frozen moon with temperatures so low she will freeze to death in minutes if she doesn’t find shelter. Inside the moon’s mountain is a huge geodic cavern, lit and heated by crystals of various colors. Fortunate to find her way inside, she discovers a community of golden-furred, human-like beings, who call themselves Laeperians, and one blue-eyed blond boy. Finally, through challenges, travails, and danger as she travels through space and visits various worlds, she learns important truths about her existence and finds her purpose in life. This series is for adults, 18 and over.

For a few years, I kept up a blog, mostly to share family stories. Just happened onto it today as I was looking up my mother's obit. Here is one of the stories I've loved to share about my family. There are more in that blog.

Dorothy Dale (Elkins) Muirhead was born on this day 100 years ago, November 14, 1914. She was the fourth child of C. C. Elkins and Maude (Lu...

"He leads with integrity. That's how he won his first Senate race as an underdog, and how he was already known as a statesman in the Senate by the time I got there 25 years ago.

"He's a true patriot. Joe Biden has always worked overtime to do right by his family and put his country first.

"He is one of America's finest presidents. 15 million new jobs. Capping the cost of insulin. Bringing manufacturing back to our shores. Investing billions to defend against climate change. Any one of these would be the crowning achievement for another administration. But my friend Joe didn't just stop at one -- he reminds us every day that there's more work to do to make America a better, fairer, stronger country." — Chuck Schumer

I agree.
