🌉 𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

We’re excited to share an important update: 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗖𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 & 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

This rebrand reflects how our work has grown beyond one county and one type of audience. What began with community media in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania has expanded into a broader platform connecting people across 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲.

Our new name better reflects the purpose behind the work:

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 — connecting people, ideas, businesses, cultures, and opportunities.
𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 — creating spaces where people feel seen, welcomed, valued, and connected.

Our roots remain in Pennsylvania, while our work continues to grow in 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝘁, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆.

The name is new, but the commitment remains the same: to amplify stories, strengthen communities, support entrepreneurs, create meaningful connections, and build opportunities for people to belong.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 & 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

We invite you to follow the next chapter, engage with our stories, share opportunities, and connect with the communities we are continuing to build.

𝟰 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗪𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿

As we prepare for this historic celebration, we remember that our freedom journey includes moments of reflection.

We honor the lives impacted by racial violence and injustice, including the Philadelphia Riot of 1842, which occurred during a period when Black Immigrant communities gathered to commemorate 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We will observe 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 to honor those who suffered, those who resisted, and those who continued the fight for justice. (𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘡𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 first 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵)

Emancipation was not the end of the journey — it was the beginning of a new chapter.

Across the Caribbean, formerly enslaved people transformed freedom into communities, cultures, economies, and movements that continue to inspire the world.

Today, we celebrate the legacy of freedom and the responsibility we carry to protect and advance it.

Hey Norristown? What’s your thoughts on this action by the new board?

The board, which previously moved to oust its superintendent over test scores, said school leaders will be held accountable for reducing racial disparities. Critics are skeptical. 🔗: https://ebx.sh/24i1QT
