"Timber! The Story of a Forestry Warrior"

We're so happy to finally be able to share with the world a project we've been working on since February.

Since the early 1980s, Land’s Sake has provided a model for small-scale, sustainable forestry. Working with the Weston Conservation Commission, they rotationally harvest cordwood from different parcels of Weston’s conservation land. Since then, their forestry department has grown to include other forest-related activities including maple syrup production and growing cut-your-own Christmas trees. These activities allow us to use different parcels of town forest for a variety of activities, and engage the public in different types of forestry.
