Here’s a question that gets asked a lot by Facebook Group admins.

This may help you understand how everyone’s Facebook feed has become more personalized to them.

A Facebook Group Admin asked:

If a private group has over 1K members why it doesn't show to mostly everyone anything that it has been posted? According to the analytics only about 20 to 30 people get to see it but there are usually about 700 people active at the time of the post. Checked with a few people and their notifications are on, but still won't pop up unless looked for.

Here’s the answer:

The Facebook algorithm decides which posts people see every time they check their Facebook feed, and in what order those posts show up. For its part, Facebook would like to remind us that there is no single algorithm, but rather “multiple layers of machine learning models and rankings,” built to predict which posts will be “most valuable and meaningful to an individual over the long term.”

In other words, instead of presenting every available Facebook post in chronological order, the Facebook algorithm evaluates every post, scores it, and then arranges it in descending order of interest for each individual user. This process happens every time a user—and there are 2.7 billion of them—refreshes their newsfeed.

Is your brand or business Virtue Signaling?

Virtue signaling is when your brand conspicuously expresses its values without actually taking actions to live by those values.

Capitalizing on cultural moments, particularly those of a tragic nature, holidays or pride and awareness months by mixing a message of concern with shameless self-promotion is a surefire path to reputation annihilation.

When it comes to your brand or business ask yourself:

Are we making a statement or are we self-promoting?

A statement says "this is where we stand as a business." A promotion says "this is what we offer to you the customer." Mixing the two, especially around sensitive issues, is dicey.

If you’re just going along with what’s currently trending and changing your logo to match the color scheme of that awareness month, then you’re not really supporting that cause. You’re just trying to fit in.

If you really care about the cause then contribute by getting actively involved in your local community, charities, and organizations that support that movement. If not, then your best bet is to not get involved at all. Stay neutral. Cancel culture is at an all time high and the last thing your business needs is bad publicity or being called what the young millennials like to say a “Try-Hard.”

What NOT to do when interviewing a candidate

A great interview will tell you what you need to know about the candidate’s work ethic, job history, future career aspirations, and expectations of your company.

Make sure when preparing to interview your candidates, that you’re not taking George Costanza’s approach.

Good reviews on your page build confidence in your brand and give you credibility in the marketplace. A customer who can clearly see your 5 star reviews is likely to have higher confidence in your business than in those who aren't sharing customer reviews.

When a potential customer reaches your page, they are in one of the following Buyer Journey stages. A simplified explanation of The Buyer Journey is as follows:

Awareness stage: In which a buyer realizes they have a problem that needs solving

Consideration stage: Where a buyer has defined their problem and is researching options to solve it.

Decision stage: Your buyer chooses a solution and with luck, it is something your business offers.

Pew Research Center survey of U.S. adults finds that a relatively substantial share of the public has earned money recently from a digital commerce platform. In the context of gig employment, nearly one-in-ten Americans (8%) have earned money in the last year using digital platforms to take on a job or task. Meanwhile, nearly one-in-five Americans (18%) have earned money in the last year by selling something online, while 1% have rented out their properties on a home-sharing site. Adding up everyone who has performed at least one of these three activities, some 24% of American adults have earned money in the “platform economy” over the last year.

You don't always have to spend money to make money. If you want to launch a side gig to generate regular part-time income, or if you're looking for some quick extra cash, there are websites that can help you do it and we can help you!

KISS, an acronym for keep it simple, stupid, is a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960.

The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore, simplicity should be a key goal in design, and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.

How Colors Affect Conversions 🎨

Color has a powerful psychological influence on the human brain.

92.6% of people say the visual dimension is the #1 influencing factor affecting their purchase decision (over taste, smell, etc.)

Studies suggest that people make a subconscious judgment about a product within 90 seconds of initial viewing. Up to 90% of that assessment is based on color alone.

⭐️⭐️ New Google My Business Update ⭐️⭐️

Google announced new updates to Google Maps but one that you might care more about, is that Google Maps will begin to tailor the map results based on time of day and who the searcher is. Google said "soon Maps will tailor what you see on the map based on things like the time of day or where you are."

Google gave this example of how the results will be tailored, "if you live in New York and open up Maps at 8 a.m. on a weekday, we’ll prominently feature nearby coffee shops — instead of dinner spots — so you can start your day with a caffeine fix. And if you’re on a weekend getaway, it’ll be easier to spot local landmarks and tourist attractions right on the map."

So it’s important to make sure you add or update the correct business hours and optimize your services and business categories for the best results.
