I’ve known my buddy Paul Pietrofeso of the paulstoneproject for so long, it seems like forever. Such good times at Homegrown Brewhouse and so many more since. Cheers, my friend.

Funny story from Albany today.

I took a Lyft from my hotel in Latham to Druthers Brewery. My driver, Jason, and I got to chatting, and I mentioned that I’d finished paddling the Erie Canal yesterday.

He stopped me: “Wait a minute. I picked up a couple of guys at the Recovery Bar and Grille in Amsterdam the other night who were paddling the canal. Were you one of them?”

“Yep. One and the same!”

By the time we reached Druthers, we were both laughing about the odds, he’s a former blackjack dealer. Jason pulled into a parking spot and said, “I’m coming in to buy you a b**r and have one with you.”

Then we nearly circled the entire building trying to find the entrance. Jason cracked, “You navigated the entire canal, and we can’t find the door!”

We found it eventually, shared a b**r, and had some great Craft Conversations. We learned a lot about each other in a short time. Great guy. Small world.

Reverberations of the canal…
