Governor Sule Creates New Ministries, Assigns Portfolios To New Commissioners

With less than 10 months to the end of his second and final term, Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has announced a cabinet reshuffle that includes the creation of four new ministries and the deployment of new commissioners.

The Governor announced the changes on Tuesday shortly after the swearing-in of newly appointed commissioners.

According to the announcement, the new ministries are the Ministry of Tertiary and Technical Education, Ministry of Livestock Development, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and the Ministry of NGOs and Disaster Management.

Muhammad Habeeb Nagogo was appointed to head Tertiary and Technical Education, while Umar Tanko Tunga, a returning commissioner, will oversee Livestock Development. Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed takes charge of Budget and Economic Planning, and Mohammed Shehu Baba will lead, Humanitarian Affairs, NGOs and Disaster Management.

Other new appointees include Mohammed Iyimoga Oyigye for Agriculture and Food Security; Nawani Aboki for Information, Culture and Tourism; Jibril Abdullahi Ibrahim for Youth and Sports Development; Ashefo Daniel Paul for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning; and Rabecca Kpadji for Women Affairs and Social Development.

Governor Sule also redeployed Yakubu Kwanta from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Works, Infrastructure and Transport. The remaining commissioners retained their previous portfolios.

Nasarawa State Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule received critical stakeholders of Ninghaan District of Akwanga Local Government area on a courtesy visit.

The delegation led by Malam Abdul Hassan Abdul the District Head of Ninghan thanked Governor Sule for opening up Ninghaan catchment communities with vital road infrastructure.

Malam Abdul applauded the Governor for his administration's critical interventions in areas that impact the lives of the people of the area positively. Especially the construction of Bukun, Cambre, Numa, Ancho Wawaye, Andaha road which would improve the economic viability of the people of the area.

Among the delegation were; Mike Abdul former deputy governor of the state, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura and other prominent sons and daughters of Ninghaan.

Governor Sule Commends DSS Over Rescue Of Kidnap Victim, Arrest Of 3 Suspects In Duduguru, Lafia

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State, has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies for the rescue of a kidnapped victim and the arrest of three suspects linked to the crime.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Addra, the Governor said the operation, which led to the arrest of one suspect at a hideout in Atabula, Duduguru, and two others in Lafia, reflects the commitment and effectiveness of security personnel in the state.

He noted that the operatives also destroyed the criminals’ makeshift camp and recovered cash and five mobile phones.

The Governor urged security agencies to sustain the momentum and assured them of his administration’s continued support.

He also called on residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies to help maintain peace and security across the state.
