It all started with a wild idea:
What if a bunch of ordinary guys hunted ghosts… but instead of horror, it was comedy?

That spark came from childhood stories — paranormal tales my father used to tell me. My name is Dan Aykroyd, and while most people know me as an actor, few realize I wrote Ghostbusters out of the deepest pain of my life: the loss of my brother, and the spiritual legacy of my family. ⚰️📜

When I pitched the script, everyone said it was “too weird,” “too absurd.” Even after I got Bill Murray on board, we were hit with tragedy — my best friend and original cast member, John Belushi, passed away from an overdose. His death shattered me. But I made sure he lived on… in the form of Slimer, the mischievous green ghost. 💚🕊️

We had to rewrite the script in weeks, film under insane pressure, and fight studio skepticism every step of the way. But in 1984, Ghostbusters wasn’t just released — it exploded into a cultural phenomenon.

Born from grief and chaos, it became a story that made millions laugh, scream, and believe again. It wasn’t just a ghost movie. It was a message:
Even in darkness, there’s always room for laughter. 🎥🌟

Because life, at its core, is this:
