It’s been a bunch of years since I last performed in local theatre, and as we approach opening night for “Lost in Radioland” at the Theatre 68 Arts Complex in North Hollywood, I’m reacquiring a level of respect for working actors. I’d forgotten the vast hours required for rehearsals and tech to get a play ready for an audience. I’m just a guy on-loan from the voiceover world, but for these actors, the passion to perform and perfect one’s skills somehow manages to coexist with the day-to-day reality of jobs, commutes, expenses, family. And refreshingly, this entire troupe leaves politics at the door. Massive respect to y’all. Theatre 68

It’s a sentence I’ll likely only get to use once: “I was parodied at the Emmys!” Wha—?? Martin Short—onstage with Only Murders In The Building co-stars Selena Gomez and Steve Martin—was expressing his joy at being a part of the 2024 Emmys, and bam! A stern Announcer voice says, “Shingles doesn’t care!”. That’s my line, from the current GSK Shingrix TV/Social campaign, on which I’m blessed to be doing the VO. Should the Emmys have brought me in for the live read? That woulda been cool. Still, we all know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery. Wink wink! In video games it’s always a treat to discover bits of audio you’d recorded years prior suddenly show up in a scene. I’m blessed to have performed several roles in Fallout 76, but had forgotten about Carl (or if you’re Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes, “Coral”). On a Holotape found in a workshop at one end of the fantastically rendered New River Gorge Bridge, Carl’s voice hints that adventures await on the roller coaster at the abandoned Camden Park. Carl never again appears in the game (…or DOES he??).

A very special Season 1 Wrap Party last night with the cast and crew of Nickelodeon’s “Fairly Oddparents: A New Wish”. Rubbed elbows with of the heaviest hitters in Animation Voiceover, and I feel ridiculously blessed to be a part of this cast. Imperium 7 Talent Agency Nickelodeon
