𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡 𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗛 presents "𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬", a film directed by 𝗘𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗖𝗔𝗭𝗔𝗥. This is a film based on creating a groundbreaking serum, "Divinity", intended for human perfection and immortality. This film was shot primarily on 16mm Tri-X 7266 positive with some super 8 Tri-X dabbled in. The contrast of the positive Tri-X film was selected for the macabre, otherworldly look it added in. Small sections also included other picture mediums to help enhance some of the visuals. Film was typically overexposed and pulled in processing to maintain the contrast and grain levels that best emulated the look the director was after. The 16mm and Super 8 was processed and prepped with Spectra with some portions scanned on Spectra's Scanity.

𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗗𝗘𝗡 𝗘𝗬𝗘 𝟰 𝗦𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗘: Since we upgraded to a faster Scanity for lab dailies, our slower Golden Eye archive scanner has been disassembled to make space. This scanner has only been used for a handful of jobs and is now being listed for sale on our Spectra store. If anything, it gives our customers a better understanding of the staggering costs and excellent value they receive when scanning at full resolution (no Bayer filter upscaling) with Spectra. 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗩𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚: All at Spectra wish to mourn the passing of Steve Willard who was one of Spectra's most dedicated lab engineers. He passed away in Las Vegas due to a sudden stroke early Saturday evening on June 3, 2023 with his son at his side. He was 80 years old.

Steve was the very first person hired at Spectra to assist with the design and building of our first film lab shortly after we opened our doors in 2005. He also dabbled in refurbishing 16mm and 8mm cameras for Spectra to sell. He enjoyed working on cameras so much he eventually started his own company, Willard Engineering, which he operated out of a spare room at Spectra. Many of our customers would also enjoy tapping into Steve's vast knowledge of old cameras and film when he was working part time at Spectra's front counter.

Steve remained with Spectra for over 12 years. On 02/20/17 Steve officially retired from Spectra noting "It has been a good run. I am glad Spectra was part of it". He then moved to Las Vegas to live out the remainder of his life. We salute Steve for all he did to help to keep film alive.

𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦. When the sun goes down, we are often still working for our clients into the night. This sometimes includes film processing, scanning and filling orders. We offer three great ways to get your order taken care of even when we are closed for walk-in service:

𝟭. 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗮'𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗪𝗲𝗯𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲: We have totally redesigned our website with a new interactive store for your convenience. Have it your way by buying film bundled with discounted services or film only. Browse useful film items with detailed descriptions only offered on our site. Discover special promotional offerings only obtainable on the site store (look for the green "sale!" icon next to discounted products). Check out the link bellow!

𝟮. 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝗕𝗼𝘅: To the left of our main store entrance is a 13.0″ W x 8.0″ H x 11.25″ D drop box for film or media. This box is secured, only allowing bundled items to be inserted while safely blocking access to anything inside. The bottom of the box is lined with foam to prevent damage to delicate items. This box is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience. Be sure to include a note with instructions and contact information to avoid delays.

𝟯. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗛𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗿-𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: Even when the lights are out at Spectra, our on-site cloud server is constantly working for our clients. It provides blazing fast downloads to any computer in the world with good internet. So, our clients can now access their editable files within a matter of hours instead of days or weeks. No more having to deal with slow, unreliable service connections from DropBox or WeTransfer.

Our goal is to reinvest in new services that can actually improve efficiency and accessibility for our clients rather than resorting to cheap advertisement gimmicks used by our competitor.

Try our new after hour services and experience the difference!
