I’m about 75% into producing a new novel. With luck, the first draft will be done by the beginning of December. Editing, corrections and rewriting should Tahoe another couple of months. Shirley’s been checking the manuscript and says it way better than my first novel (and I haven’t tried to bribe her in any fashion!).

After starting about thirty short stories and possible novels over the past six or seven years, I've finally started a new novel that I like, a lot. What's nice about it is that writing it feels just like it felt to write Mulligan...it is just pouring out of me. I wish I had far better control over my brain; I'd be able to write like this most days! I'll keep my friends posted, and might very well publish excerpts here as soon as I get more deeply into the story line. Wish me luck!!

Another nice review about "Mulligan" Working on new novel(s) now 😊

"I absolutely enjoyed reading Mulligan. The characters were interesting and real, very down to earth type people. I liked the intertwining of the two stories and could actually picture the settings, i.e. the towns, restaurants, apartment by the great detailed descriptions. It was a page turner for me to see what would prevail in the romance storyline. I can not wait to read the sequel, excellent writing R.A.!"

"Mulligan" has gotten some very nice reviews. Here's one:

"Very early into the book, I quickly realized 'Mulligan' was going to be a captivating read. And, I was right! I immediately became invested in the lives of the two main characters--Sean and Aiden--and was able to see a little (actually, more than a little) of myself in each one. RA tells a story within a story and he masterfully carries us along their journey to self-realization. Great to read a story, or two stories, in which finding fulfillment doesn't have to end at a certain age or at a certain place in our lives. It gives hope to us all. Can't wait to see what RA does next!"

What readers are saying about my novel, “Mulligan”:

“I LOVED IT… it was such a good read, carried you all the way through the end – the character development and growth was superb.”

“The unique format of a novel within a novel in Mulligan was masterfully done. It gave me two memorable sets of characters so real that they live on in my thoughts…I couldn't put the book down!”

“Great to read a story, or two stories, in which finding fulfillment doesn't have to end at a certain age or at a certain place in our lives. It gives hope to us all.”

“I loved this book, or should I say these books. It's two stories in one and I didn't want either one of them to end! I hghly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed, except when it ends!”

“I absolutely enjoyed reading Mulligan. The characters were interesting and real, very down to earth type people. I liked the intertwining of the two stories and could actually picture the settings, i.e. the towns, restaurants, apartment by the great detailed descriptions. It was a page turner for me to see what would prevail in the romance storyline.”

“Thank you for a very enjoyable, thought provoking story…a home run on several levels. Both story lines were well thought out and cleanly developed… a great job in moving from one story to the other…Seeing a similar dynamic, a super achiever vs. an under achiever, in my own family, I can appreciate the tensions of the "McCann" family. The conclusion of the book was uplifting and personally encouraging to try to bury the hatchet in my own family. Everyone who needed a mulligan on the golf course of life, got one in the end in your story.”
