Long time lurker, finally here to contribute 😭

I’ve been watching from the sidelines for a while, but I fear it’s time to offer up this masterpiece.

An iCarly tattoo. On the forearm. In full color. With the logo looking like it was recreated from memory after someone saw it once on a lunchbox in 2009.

The idea is already deeply unserious, but the ex*****on really seals it. The letters are uneven, the box is wobbling, the color packing is patchy, and the whole thing has that “graphic design is my passion” energy. The “i” is fighting for its life, the “Carly” is sliding out of formation, and the blue/red combo is giving off-brand streaming service.

I respect a nostalgic tattoo. I really do. But this one feels like it should come with a laugh track and a hard lesson about permanent fandom decisions.

This back piece has so much going on and somehow none of it is helping 😭

I don’t even know where to start. We’ve got barbed wire, clouds, skulls, a prison yard, tiny workout men, a guard tower, bricks, fences, random buildings… it’s like someone tattooed an entire low-budget prison simulator map across his back.

The concept might have sounded cool on paper, but the perspective is fighting for its life. The yard looks tilted, the tiny people look like board game pieces, and the background is so busy that my eyes don’t know where they’re supposed to land.

And because it’s a full back piece, there’s no casual way to ignore it. This is not a little “oops” tattoo. This is a whole documentary.

I respect the commitment, but wow… this feels like one of those tattoos where every session added a new problem instead of solving the last one.

This one is mine lmao — matching gag tattoo with my brother 😂

Me and my brother got these matching a couple years ago, fully knowing they were ridiculous, and honestly that’s kind of the whole point.

Is it clean? No.
Is it readable? Barely.
Does it look like a tiny cursed stick figure got hit with a printer error? Absolutely. 😭

But it was meant to be a stupid little gag tattoo, not a museum piece. Some of y’all are acting like I submitted it to Ink Master when really it’s just sibling nonsense permanently stamped on skin.

I’d love to hear what everyone thinks, but please remember… it’s a joke tattoo. A bad one, yes. But lovingly bad. 😂

My god people, y’all need Jesus if this little scribble has you stressed.

Brutal session… tapped out before colour 😭

I thought I was ready for this one and my thigh said, “absolutely not.”

Got the black outline/shading started on this big rose piece and fully tapped out before we even got to colour. I wanted to be brave, but somewhere around the giant bold black petals my soul left my body. 🫠

I still love the idea and I think once it’s finished it could look sick, but right now it’s giving “halfway through a boss fight with no health potions left.”

Definitely numbing up next time because I am not raw-dogging round two with this much packing and colour still to go. Respectfully, my pain tolerance has clocked out.

Anyone else tapped out mid-piece and had to come back for the rest? Make me feel better. 😅🌹

I’m begging book girls to stop getting terrible tattoos 😭

Y’all are making us look bad as a unit.

I know the romantasy girlies are in their permanent-ink era, but please… not every quote needs to be framed like a haunted church window and slapped on a forearm.

The concept could’ve been cute — gothic arch, clean lettering, dramatic bookish vow energy. But the ex*****on is so rough. The lines are shaky, the symmetry is fighting for its life, the arch looks like it was drawn during turbulence, and the tiny spear things on the sides are giving “medieval kebab skewers.”

And then the quote being so huge and centered just makes it feel even more intense. Like ma’am, I support your fictional marriage pact, but this needed a cleaner artist and maybe one less vow. 😭

Book tattoos can be beautiful. This one looks like it was designed by BookTok, approved by Pinterest, and executed by someone who hates straight lines.

Just gave my aunty a tattoo — looking for honest tips, not hate 😅

This is only my 3rd tattoo, so I’m still very much learning and trying to improve.

I know it’s not perfect. The lettering is uneven, some of the lines look a little shaky/heavy, and I can see spots where my depth and consistency need work. But she wanted something simple, and I wanted to practice while also giving her something she liked.

Does anyone have beginner-friendly advice for getting cleaner script? Especially with steady lines, spacing, and not overworking the skin?

Please be honest, but constructive. I’m not claiming to be amazing — I’m just trying to learn and get better with each one. 🙏

Upside down bat wings!! Definitely not fixing this one… 😭

I had to stare at this for a second because my brain kept trying to make the anatomy make sense and simply could not.

The idea is honestly cool — spooky bat skeleton, little axe, dark gothic vibe. But those wings are fighting the natural order of the universe. They look like they got installed backwards and nobody noticed until the appointment was over. 🫠

The shading isn’t the worst, and the concept had potential, but once you see the wing issue, it becomes the only thing you can see. The bat is already dead and somehow still suffering from anatomical confusion.

And the worst part? This feels like one of those mistakes where “fixing it” might just turn it into an even bigger haunted blob.

Local artist with 40 years under his belt and somehow the rose still lost the fight 😭

I’m not saying every artist has to specialize in realism, but after four decades you’d think a neck rose wouldn’t look like it was shaded with fireplace soot and panic.

The placement is bold, the idea is basic enough to be safe, but the ex*****on is rough. The petals are muddy, the contrast is all over the place, and the whole thing kind of melts together into one dark cabbage-looking situation. The redness around it is also making it look extra angry, like the skin itself is questioning the appointment. 🫠

And it’s on the neck, so there’s no “at least you can hide it” comfort here. This thing is right under the ear, clocking in for every conversation.

Forty years of experience should mean clean saturation, controlled shading, and knowing when to stop digging. This looks like the artist kept trying to fix it until the rose started decomposing in real time.

I’m assuming this is supposed to be some kind of gear shift / transmission diagram tattoo… but somehow it looks like a treasure map for a car that still won’t start.

The concept is already a choice, but the ex*****on is where it really stalls out. The lines are shaky, the boxes are uneven, the black fill is patchy, and the little letters/numbers look like they were added during turbulence. 😭

And putting it on the hand makes it even funnier because now every time he grabs the actual shifter, he’s got a backup diagram right there… except I’m not fully convinced this diagram would help anyone get out of the driveway.

The wrench bracelet really completes the scene too. Mechanic-core, but make it permanent regret.

Saw somebody share this unironically on Facebook… and I fear it belongs here 😭

I’m not even trying to be heartless because memorial tattoos are touchy, but this concept is… a lot.

A giant text bubble saying “Dad I miss you 💔” with “Not Delivered” underneath is already peak Facebook grief-core, but then the date at the top being “January 20, 195?” makes it feel like even the tattoo wasn’t fully delivered. 😭

The idea is emotional, I get it. But visually it looks like a screenshot from a phone that got left in a smoker for six hours. The bubble shading is muddy, the text placement is awkward, and the whole thing has that “custom memorial edit from 2014” energy.

Again, I’m sure it means something deeply personal to the person who got it… but as a tattoo? Whew.
