Rapper Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree r**e in a Louisiana case stemming from a 2022 assault.

During sentencing, the victim described a violent encounter inside Tyler’s Louisiana home, telling the court that he allegedly choked her, punched her, and forcibly r**ed her. She asked the judge to impose the maximum sentence allowed under the law.

According to reports, after hearing the victim’s statement, Tyler addressed the court and said, “If I did that to you, I deserve the max sentence.” Prosecutors had originally charged the rapper following his 2022 arrest, and he later entered a guilty plea as part of an agreement with the state.

The sentencing marks another serious legal setback for the New Orleans artist, whose career included hits like “Shake Ya Ass” and “Danger (Been So Long).”
