🌾 Porch Basket to a Roadside Stand 🧺✨
I want to take a minute to share a little piece of how it all started.
In early April of 2025, I offered my very first pre-orders… from a white basket on my front porch. No storefront. No Hotplate. Just handwritten labels, a few friends supporting me, and a whole lot of heart. I’d been baking sourdough since the winter of 2023 — quietly experimenting, learning, and perfecting before I ever thought of selling it.
That first pickup basket? It was from the dollar store, and I stuck a 4x6 thermal label on the front — hand-written, of course, because I didn’t even know how to use the printer yet (it was my son’s shipping printer 😅). Inside were maybe two or three loaves of bread. That was it. That’s where The Bread Box began.
The idea for a little roadside cart was already in motion. I even had a mental launch date set for Easter weekend. Most of it was made from repurposed materials — we only had to buy the cart, and later added some Edison bulb lights. I had a vision of Sweet Treat Date Nights before I had ever even baked a cookie! 😆 The dream just kept evolving.
Fast forward to October 2025, and I’ve completely revamped my roadside stand into the cozy little cottage setup you see now. And truthfully? I’m still dreaming and tweaking — next up: covering the walls so I can hang more signs and make it feel even more welcoming.
✨ I think this next chapter is about extreme joy, purpose, and that invisible thread that connects us all.
All this to say… I started with a dollar store basket and a dream. Thank you for growing with me. 💛
