“When Haman saw that Mordecai would not kneel down or pay him honor, he was enraged
Yet having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.” Esther 3:5-6
The same spirit that influenced Haman is very much alive today. While many think that these events of the pass cannot happen today, as it did in the scriptures, or as it did in Germany (1933-1944), history bears the evidence that pride can consume a person, or a people. When some people with power think another ( person or people), is passing their place, or getting out of where they think they should be, and so, believe they are not humbly bowing to their ways and control, it can lead to manipulative actions and even cruelty, and this happens in the workplace and also in the world.
However, it only took one person to stand up to Haman, and this was a man with a righteous spirit. The righteous teach us to please the Lord, and a mind for justice develops from learning righteousness, not a mind that conforms to treating others as nothing, but a mind that's transformed by love.
Scripture:
“Your kingdom is founded on righteousness and justice; love and faithfulness are shown in all you do.” Psalm 89:14
Haman could not get Mordecai to bow down to him, so he despised Mordecai and eventually wanted to kill him. However, he not only wanted to kill Mordecai but also the Jewish people. You know you're united under One God and King when the perils of one brother can cause all to be affected, and this is where we see a people united with the God of Abraham differs from religious businesses. A business can go on prospering no matter what is going on with their brothers and sisters, but a godly nation has to solve the perils of its people, and one anointed person can change the lives of many.
Scripture:
“If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”
49 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all!
50 You don’t realize that it’s better for you that one man should die for the people than for the whole nation to be destroyed.” John 11:48-50
The people of God are united under one, that person is Christ, but in a business my perils is not the business owner's problem. Only in Christ and His Kingdom does all have to be accounted for, and that's why He leaves the ninety and nine for the one that is gone astray. You are a unique person in the Kingdom of God, but also, uniquely fitted with your brothers and sisters in the Lord. When one is victorious, he or she helps the others to victory.
Scripture:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2
