This aired 2 years before the song was released

Steve Miller first started playing “Fly Like an Eagle” in 1973 - a proto version, not exactly what you hear on the studio recording. But the actual single would not be released until August of 1976.

So the version we hear in this clip (aired in 1974) is still in the workshop - all the more amazing for how cohesive of a jam it is. Even in its early stages, it maintained the iconic riff and basic lyrics (slightly altered later), but they really take it to outer space

Jamming with a microwave oven in the key of Eb at 120 BPM. I hear this beep every day and have heard this jam in my mind so many times, that I had to do it for real!

While we are worrying about AI creating music, now we have robot performers.

At Leehom Wang’s Chengdu show, six Unitree robots danced in flawless sync during “Firepower Full Open.” They’ve performed at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala and the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Hats (or shirts) off -to the original circa 1974 -ish. Anyone have thoughts about bringing these back?

confessions of a live sound engineer.
….
• Low-quality or damaged cables increase resistance, which weakens signal strength and raises noise levels.
• Poor shielding lets in electromagnetic interference (phones, lights, power sources), creating hum and hiss your audience will hear.
• Consistent cable routing preserves phase integrity, reducing weird dropouts and maintaining clean transients.
• High quality connectors lower contact resistance, meaning fewer crackles, pops, and mid-show mysteries

🎶 Bee Gees – “If I Fell” (Beatles Cover, 1973)
On April 6, 1973, the Bee Gees appeared on NBC’s The Midnight Special and performed a stunning acoustic medley of Beatles songs, including “If I Fell.” With Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb harmonizing in perfect sync, the performance highlighted their deep admiration for the Fab Four while showcasing their own vocal brilliance.
