Vandersluis Motorsports Welcome to the official page for Vandersluis Motorsports! Driver: Greg Vandersluis
Crew: Gary, Bernard, Caryn, Mikey, Allan

Greg Vandersluis began his racing career in 2006 competing in SCCA autocross. In 2007, he finished as runner up in the NEOHIO SCCA solo championship in the Street Touring Sport Class. In 2008 Greg made the switch to club racing piloting a 1990 Honda Civic Si in the Improved Touring A (ITA) class. In his first year of wheel to wheel competition, Greg was named the NEOHIO region SCCA "Rookie of the

Year", finished 3rd in the Kryderacing Regional Championship Series, and brought home 3rd in the SCCA ITA Great Lakes Division Championship Series.

2009 was another great year for Vandersluis Motorsports. Greg was able to capitalize on his skills and win the NEOHIO SCCA class championship; as well as the Kryderacing Regional Championship Series. However, the Great Lakes Division was just out of reach for Vandersluis Racing. Greg finished 5th in the Division.

2010 was due to be a redemption year. Greg put the ITA field to the test winning 5 races in 14 starts. He also racked up many podium finishes throughout the season. Focused and alert, Vandersluis Motorsports claimed the Great Lakes Divisional Championship Series, Kryderacing Regional Championship Series, and the NEOHIO SCCA class championship. Greg had a few new oppourtunities in 2010 such as driving for Colletti Motorsports in the WOR Games 8 hour enduro in which the team won their class. He also hopped in the drivers seat of a Touring 1 Corvette for a test session.

2011 had a tough start to the season. Engine issues forced Vandersluis Motorsports to miss the first three races of the year. After the car was finished Greg had one goal in mind; to finish top 3 in the Great Lakes Division Champsionship Series. That simple goal found Greg leading the division in ITA half way thru the season. Greg had great races and very good results including a handfull of wins and top 3 finishes. Colletti Motorsports invited Greg to co-drive with their team in the 13hr of VIR endurance race running their #19 ITA Acura Integra. However, this was the same weekend as the last races for the Great Lakes Division. Greg's determination and dedication led him to his debut in the 13hr of VIR, drive back that same night and race the Honda in the final 2 out of 4 Great Lakes Division races the next day. However, Greg finished 2nd in the Great Lakes Division Championship standings by only 1 point over Gary Weatherlow in his Mazda Miata. Vandersluis Motorsports also claimed the NEOHIO SCCA class championship as well. In December of 2011 Greg tested an SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am 2 Chevrolet Camaro with Pinnacle Autosports at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, TX. Greg was able to get right up to speed after one session in the car and was turning identical lap times to the front running TA2/GTA class cars. An amazing oppourtunity!

2012 was a repeat of the successful Vandersluis Motorsports team. Greg not only ran his ITA Honda but also took the leap and competed in Touring 1 in a Corvette Z06. Going up against the likes of national champions such as John Buttermore and Tom Sloe. Greg was able to gain valuable experience running both cars. He was able to claim the 2012 Great Lakes Division and NEOHIO SCCA Championships for T1 as well as Kryderacing and NEOHIO SCCA Championships for ITA

Greg has brought home many championships, wins, and podium finishes. He has been featured in both the SportsCar Magazine as well as the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Here's what people are saying about Greg Vandersluis:

"Greg Vandersluis is the future of SCCA club racing. I have raced for 11 years and taught high-performance driving for five years before that and have never seen a new driver with his ability and judgement. It would not suprise me to see him be successful at the pro level."
-Dave Mills (during an interview with SportsCar Magazine)

"Greg stepped up to a high horsepower car like a fish to water. In no time he was spanking that Touring 1 Corvette like a rented mule!"
-Jeff Arendes, Vetern Showroom Stock driver, PDX participant

"Greg did a fantastic job of driving the Corvette and was super fast. If he enters a T1 race, beware because he will be running with the best of them."
-Aaron Quine, T1 driver
