SHINING A LIGHT on the liberties to which we are all entitled in the USA is Gary Hastings whose snow sculpture of the Statue of Liberty at his home at 30 Heritage way began with one shovel full of snow and a 15-foot ladder on Feb. 11. The end result — five days later — was a 12-foot high, 10-foot wide and 3-foot deep snow sculpture. Coincidentally, in this week’s edition of the Transcript’s “Looking Back” column, 40 years ago this week, the fourth-grade art students of Nancy Goddard at the Hood School were cited for raising funds to help restore the Statue of Liberty in honor of her 100th birthday, and they also built their own 10-foot replica of Lady Liberty. Looking to identify the owner of this lost ring that was found on February 19, 2026, in the North Reading Walmart parking lot near the Dollar Tree. The ring has 5 names written on the front of each band that surrounds the birth stones. The ring in the picture attached to this post has been digitally altered to hide the identity of the names attached to the bands. The inscription “We Love You Nanna” is written on the inside of the rings band. Please share this post in hopes of bringing this ring back to its rightful owner.
