POV: From a girl who once dreamed beyond the mountains of Surigao del Sur to standing beneath the bright lights of Times Square, New York City—with the greatest blessing of all, my family beside me. 🇵🇭❤️🇺🇸
Who would have thought that the profession I chose would take me beyond the borders of my hometown and bring me to places I once only dreamed of?
Years ago, I was blessed to teach amazing high school students and work alongside dedicated co-teachers in Surigao del Sur. They became part of my story—the struggles, lessons, memories, and dreams that helped shape me into the educator I am today.
I still remember hearing people say, “Maestra ra ka. Uniform ray gana pero putos ug utang. Dili ka makaabot ug layo ana.”
But God had a different plan.
The same profession that began in a simple classroom in the Philippines became a bridge that brought me to the United States, where I continue to teach, inspire, grow, and experience opportunities I once thought were only dreams. 🇵🇭❤️🇺🇸
Teaching has given me more than a career. It has given me purpose, meaningful connections, unforgettable experiences, and opportunities to see how far faith, perseverance, and hard work can take you.
To my former students and co-teachers in Surigao del Sur, thank you for being part of the foundation of this journey. Every lesson shared, every challenge overcome, and every life touched helped shape the teacher and person I have become.
Never underestimate the power of a teacher’s dream. Sometimes, the profession others overlook becomes the very bridge God uses to bring you to places you never imagined reaching.
But above all, none of this would have been possible without His grace. Every blessing, every opportunity, every milestone, and every dream fulfilled came from Him.
All glory, honor, and praise belong to Him alone. 🙏
From Surigao del Sur to Times Square, I am simply living a story that God has graciously written. ❤️
