CHRIS EVANS WASN’T ACTUALLY BAREFOOT IN THIS CAPTAIN AMERICA SCENE. 👀
During the filming of Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, Chris Evans wore specially made prosthetic “foot boots” for the scene where Steve Rogers chases a HYDRA agent after his transformation.
Although the movie makes it look like Rogers is sprinting barefoot through the streets, Evans was actually wearing custom prosthetics designed to look like real human feet.
The reason was practical: the chase required him to run at high speed across rough streets, where gravel, asphalt and other debris could have caused serious injuries.
The production team carefully sculpted and painted the prosthetics to resemble Evans’ feet, right down to realistic skin details and toenails. The scene was filmed in Manchester and Liverpool, England, while the locations were dressed to look like 1940s Brooklyn. 😱
And here’s the wildest part: visual effects were used afterward to make the feet look even more convincing on screen.
