Although it took place July 5, the City of North Vernon Fourth of July celebration came off without a hitch.

There was a co****le tournament as well as live music. Jackson Snelling of “The Voice” and “American Idol,” who was named “Male Vocalist of the Year” in 2023, performed at 4 p.m. He never fails to woo the crowd. After his act, “The Mood,” a high energy multi-genre band rocked the stage. They had a diverse setlist that ranged from rock to funk to country and were quite the crowd-pleaser.

Although it took place July 5, the City of North Vernon Fourth of July celebration came off without a hitch.

Five drivers in round one, heat one of the Super Stock Class guide their cars around the RC track at North Vernon City Park. The next big rc event at the park will be July 12 and 13, weather permitting.

Mayor Shawn Gerkin, surrounded by members of both the city council and redevelopment commission, as well as others responsible for the new quarry park, cuts the ribbon signifying the opening of phase 1.
