Norwich University Fins and Feathers

Norwich University Fins and Feathers Fishing and hunting fundraiser to support Norwich University. Events have been defined as Fins (fishing gatherings) or Feathers (hunts).

The Norwich University Fins & Feathers was informally established with a single boat in 2014 by several alumni with a passion for fishing. Now it has grown into a multiple event and multi-region sportsman’s gathering that encourages participants to foster an appreciation for friendship, camaraderie, and our Norwich Values. It provides a gathering alternative for friends of Norwich that do not golf. All proceed from Fins & Feathers events go to the area of greatest need at Norwich University.

National K9 Veterans Day is celebrated today, March 13th, on the official birthday of the War Dog Program, otherwise known as “K-9 Corps.” This marked the first time that dogs were officially a part of the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, we honor the service and sacrifice of these working dogs throughout history.

🇺🇸This week on the Second Mess Podcast: Newly minted Regimental Commander Sophia Righthouse ’25. Righthouse, a three-year U.S. Army ROTC scholarship recipient, double majors in Political Science and English with a minor in Leadership Studies. Currently, she is the 2nd Battalion PAO, a feature editor and staff reporter for The Guidon, and founder/president of the Cover-to-Cover Book Club. The Colorado native is also credited with rebooting the Norwich Cheerleading Club. Righthouse will be formally promoted to Cadet Colonel April 19th on the Upper Parade Ground.
