Huntington's 2022 adopted budgets reflects a 1.9% property tax increase. Its biggest expense is salaries and benefits. It budgeted $26 million for health insurance for its 700 employees through NYSHIP. Taxes for town services, like refuse and highway, are only part of your entire property tax bill. The other taxing districts are, for example, schools, fire, police, and water.
The town's expenses, mainly staff salaries and benefits, are expected to increase. Total revenue, aside from taxes, is not.
