🚨 WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES IN EFFECT 🚨
This Afternoon Through Thursday Morning
Several Winter Weather Advisories are now in effect across the region as snow and gusty winds move in, creating hazardous travel conditions.
❄️ Northeast Tennessee
(Johnson, SE Carter, SE Greene, SE Monroe, Unicoi Counties)
• Advisory from 3 PM today to 11 AM Thursday
• 2–4 inches of snow, locally higher on the highest peaks
• Wind gusts up to 35 mph
• Roads, bridges, and overpasses likely to become slick
• Impacts expected for Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes
❄️ Southwest Virginia
(Russell & Wise Counties)
• Advisory from 3 PM today to 11 AM Thursday
• 1–3 inches of snow possible
• Slick and hazardous road conditions likely, especially on bridges and overpasses
❄️ Eastern Kentucky
(Harlan, Letcher, Pike Counties)
• Advisory from 4 PM today to 10 AM Thursday
• Up to 2 inches in most areas
• 3–7 inches possible on Big Black Mountain
• Rain changing to snow late this afternoon, with snow levels dropping to the valleys between 6–9 PM
• Snow showers may be briefly heavy at times overnight into Thursday morning
