Connecticut and New York Move Forward With Laws Restricting Private Real Estate Networks 📜🏘️

State governments are continuing to push back against "secret" home listings. Connecticut has officially signed a new bill into law requiring properties on private listing networks to also be displayed on a public platform.

Just across the border, New York’s state Senate just cleared a similar bill. Under these new laws, agents must give listings broad public exposure unless a seller explicitly signs a state-approved opt-out form detailing the potential risks of lower sale prices and fewer buyer offers.
