The Foreigner’s Home preceded by Over – Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery

Rian Brown and Geoff Pingree's film about Toni Morrison, "The Foreigner's Home", will screen at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC this Sunday, January 19th, at 4pm. Trillium's Yari Wolinsky had the opportunity to work with the filmmakers on editing the project.

Their film will be screened with the short, "Over", by Jörn Threlfall.

In the short Over, a quiet London neighborhood is the site of what is presumably a crime scene.

12/27/2017

We have received emails from friends who cannot find the broadcast of Raise the Roof listed on their local public television stations.

Here are some things that might help:

Your local public broadcaster likely owns several channels. Be sure to check your local listing for the WORLD channel. The WORLD channel for WNET in New York, for example, is WLIW.

Raise the Roof is part of the Jewish Film Showcase and may be listed under that name.

In some cities Raise the Roof will be broadcast on one day but not the other. Be sure to check both December 27th and December 28th WORLD channel listings.

We apologize for this confusion.

Congratulations to Ms. McDonald!
We had a great time working with Arts at MIT to create the announcement film.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is pleased to announce that Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald is the recipient of the 2018 Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT. The $100,000 cash prize awarded at a gala in her honor also includes an artist residency, during which McDonald will present a public talk at MIT on April 14, 2018 about her performances in musical theater, film and television.

The Eugene McDermott Award in the Arts at MIT celebrates individuals who continue to achieve the highest distinction in their fields and who will produce inspiring work for many years to come. The prize represents an investment in the recipient’s future creative work, rather than a prize for a particular project or lifetime of achievement. McDonald will be presented with the award at a gala in her honor. Past recipients include David Adjaye, Olafur Eliasson, Robert Lepage, Gustavo Dudamel, Bill Viola, Suzan-Lori Parks and Santiago Calatrava, among others.

Big News! American Public Television would like to syndicate our film, Raise the Roof to 350 public television stations across the US for broadcast in 2017. Like every show on public television, Raise the Roof must have sponsors. We have raised $36,500 in small donations in the last month. If we can raise just $2,000 this week, we will be able to accept American Public Television’s invitation. Your donation in any amount will help close the deal. Thanks!

Cary Wolinsky: Fiber of Life | Fuller Craft Museum

From Cary Wolinsky: "I had a bit of a surprise at the Fuller Craft Museum this past weekend. The Fuller was holding an afternoon reception for two exhibitions: "Uncommon Exposures: Photography in Craft Based Media" in their Community Gallery and my "Fiber of Life" photographs their Courtyard Gallery. The Museum invited me to give a lecture as part of the event. It was a dreary Sunday and the expectations for turnout were modest. When the doors to the auditorium opened, I was amazed to see the room fill and fill until more seats were needed. Being able to share my stories and photos with so many friends made my day a delight. Thank you!"

The exhibition "Fiber of Life" will be open through February.

Cary Wolinsky: Fiber of Life presents a series of visually arresting images taken by Norwell artist, Cary Wolinsky. Wolinsky’s career as a photojournalist for National Geographic magazine has taken him all over the world and yielded numerous historical, scientific, and photographic essays. But it…

DAN DAILEY

Dan Dailey mentioned that he had a tight deadline when he asked us to make a two-minute, autobiographical film for the opening of the new exhibition Connections: Contemporary Craft at the Renwick Gallery. Introducing him and his career in a two minute film was the kind of challenge we love. Watch it at the link below.

Trillium creates concept-driven, socially conscious stories. We delight in great ideas, brilliant camera-work and editing, and beautiful design.
