The Oak Brook Community Gave Big This Holiday Season

The Oak Brook Park District recently shared the results of its holiday giving efforts, highlighting a strong response from residents and local businesses. Through two seasonal initiatives, the community donated approximately 750 toys—benefiting Toys for Tots—along with more than 200 coats to help individuals and families in need as winter begins.

The toy donations will help bring holiday cheer to children across the region, while the collected coats will be distributed through World Relief Chicagoland, providing essential warmth during the colder months.

According to Park District Executive Director Laure Kosey, the response reflects Oak Brook’s continued commitment to caring for others and making a positive local impact.

For kids like York High grad Tim Soszko, the stage was more than a spotlight—it was a place to belong. Through programs like Elmhurst Children’s Theatre and The Laughing Academy, those same spaces continue to help young people find confidence, connection, and community.
