Our home park!
Cuyahoga Valley National Park ❀️.
It is located in Northeast Ohio.
Beaver Marsh, Kendall Lake, Brandywine falls, Ledges trail, Everett Covered Bridge, Bridal Veil Trail. We are biased, since this is our home park, but we think it is beautiful. We have a goal to hike all 125 miles of hiking trails there.
It's not just a summer park, but the winter activities will blow you away. Northeast Ohio is in the snowbelt, so it is usually dusted with a layer of snow.
The smaller size means you can hop on over in the afternoon and do a quick hike or 2. You don't need itineraries to enjoy the beauty here.
Train rides in the fall from Boston Mill Visitors Center are must do.

Ohio 2024. The collective. A month late, but it will do.

So many beautiful moments this year.
A total lunar eclipse, Northern Lights multiple times.
So many beautiful views along the way.

I will be pretty honest. We did way more that I didn't take pictures of, for the simple fact it was not my best year. Trust me, I had great experiences, but I would be lying if I said I was happy through all of it.
It was a very tough year. It feels like a blur/whirlwind of emotions all at once. It was a lifetime, and yet it wasn't long enough. I look at some of these pictures, and it feels like I experienced these things 5 years ago, not 5 months.
I'm living in a before and after state of mind, and I'm not sure if that feeling will go away.
I'm so grateful that God allows and has allowed me to do all of these amazing things.

I am so excited to see what is in store for 2025, where we will go, and what we will see. πŸ’œπŸ’š

January recap, better late than never.

1. The hammocks of the everglades are other worldly. So much wildlife, we literally saw thousands of gators on our hikes through there. It's just absolutely amazing. Warnings of panthers, but they are very seldom seen, even if the area we were in was home to over half the Panther population of Florida.

2. Zak The Baker, Michelin Guide Bakery in Miami, was literally the best pastries I have ever had! So many Cafe Cubanos had this trip. If you don't know this about us, my husband and I are food people. We will search out James Beard and Michelin restaurants like a scavenger hunt. Food will be a theme during our travels.

3. We saw an endangered Florida Back Bear! The number of states I have been, trying to find a bear of any kind, and he just meanders out of the woods into an old poaching camp. It's just awesome!

4. Sunsets in South Florida are peak!

5. Sea planes are extremely noisy, that is all.

6. Old growth tree from . Can't wait to come back this spring and kayak this beautiful place!

7. never disappoints in any season. If I could bottle this place up, I would. It has my little 70s hippie outdoor loving heart πŸ’š.

8. Winter Tournament means we went to a new State Park. Mt. Gilead State Park, to be exact. 1.7 mile loop lake trail.

9. Glimpses into my everyday life. Frozen pipes went unchecked at one of our places for 2 days. All from a dead thermostat battery. 20,000 gallons later, and some panic, it was fixed rapidly. πŸ™Œ
