It's hard to beat showing your product in action, in a way people can quickly digest and understand.
This is where animation earns its place in a content and GTM strategy. The performance case for video in general is hard to argue with. Viewers retain around 95% of a message delivered through video compared to roughly 10% through text alone. For SaaS companies trying to drive signups, shorten sales cycles, and reduce the "I need to think about it" responses — that gap can make a real difference.
A well produced animated explainer doesn't just describe your product. It makes the value immediately visible. It shows the problem, demonstrates the solution, and communicates the outcome in a way that clicks for a non-technical audience without dumbing it down for a technical one. And it does all of that in under two minutes.
Motion graphics and animation can work great for SaaS when:

•You need to quickly explain and show off key functionalities
