Japan’s G.I.S.M. return with the first ever authorized and licensed reissue of their cult sophomore album, Military Affairs Neurotic (M.A.N.) The album, another landmark release for the legendary band, sees the wild pairing of Randy Uchida’s iconic guitar playing colliding with the inimitable vocals of G.I.S.M. mastermind Sakevi Yokoyama once again. This reissue features a remaster by Sakevi himself, and sees a first-time official pressing on CD and cassette.

Relapse Records is proud to announce the first ever fully-authorized reissue of GISM’s landmark debut LP, Detestation. Originally released in 1983, Detestation has since remained one of the most innovative, bewildering, extreme, and wildly influential albums in the punk and metal canon. To say Destestation was ahead of its time would be a huge understatement—it incorporated elements from so many genres: hardcore, punk, heavy metal, glam, thrash, industrial, and experimental. It was almost as if listeners didn’t know what to do with the record’s music but gravitated to it nonetheless as they recognized it was something unique and special.

Maximum Rocknroll’s Jay Bentley’s 1984 review of Detestation made that sentiment clear, describing the record as “Churning Metal- punk, or perhaps even speed-metal, depending on where you draw the distinction. GISM are undoubtebly a heavy metal band who’ve been heavily influenced by hardcore, but the music is so intense and the vocals so ominous that even Im in a state of shock. These guys make VENOM sound like the KNACK, especially on side 1.”

Destroy - “Total Fu***ng Chaos 1989-1994” LP (Red)

This LP compiles all the non-LP studio tracks by Minneapolis’ Destroy. Like many of their 90’s DIY peers, Destroy spread their output among several 7”s, split 7”s and compilations to try to release as many tracks to as wide an audience as possible, then culminating their recording careers with their capstone 1994 LP, Necropolis. This release compiles the Total Fu***ng Chaos 7”, Burn This Racist System Down 7”, split 7”s with Disrupt and Disturb and compilation tracks. Destroy started in the late 80’s influenced by Anarcho-Punk bands like Discharge and Varukers but over time, as the Crust and Grindcore scenes exploded worldwide, the band incorporated aspects of these more extreme trajectories of hardcore to create their own unique sound. The band toured in 1990 and 1993 playing with contemporaries like Disrupt, Nausea, Dropdead, Capitalist Casualties and Na**lm Death. The first 7” Total Fu***ng Chaos was originally released on Relapse and the second 7” Burn This Racist System Down was the first release on Havoc Records. Destroy reformed with the original 1993 line up to play a 50th birthday party and it went so well the band decided to play a handful of reunion gigs and re-issue these classic ragers.
