Nobody exemplifies the life-changing effects that sports can have like Brandon Shald. Growing up around horses in Nebraska, an almost unbelievable chain of events brought him to Cal as a rower, where he now coaches.

We’re thrilled to share Episode 1 of FORGED IN FOXBOROUGH, a truly unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at a transformational offseason for the New England Patriots. This series is the first of its kind for the team, and we’re only just beginning.

Episode 1 follows the introduction of Mike Vrabel as the new head coach, free agency, the scouting process, and finally goes inside the draft room for the selection of Will Campbell and the rest of the rookie class. Whether you’re a die hard Patriots fan or just curious about what goes into building a pro sports team in the offseason, there’s something in this for you.

This episode and series is a massive team effort, created almost entirely in-house. Huge shoutout to for leading the charge and editing alongside and myself. Incredibly grateful for the dozens of people who helped build this series from scratch, and for the players, coaches, and staff that trusted us with telling these stories. It’s been incredible to see the immediate positive reaction to it, and we hope you enjoy it too.

I’m excited to announce that I recently started as a Producer with the New England Patriots, focused on longform video and branded content. I’m grateful for this opportunity to help tell the story of my hometown team in this new era for the historic franchise.

Much of my recent work has focused on telling human stories through the lens of sports. While I will continue to tell stories of all types, I’m looking forward to helping set a new standard for sports storytelling alongside my talented colleagues.

I’m extremely thankful for the stories I’ve been able to tell over the last 3+ years in DC, and everyone who helped bring each film, video, and series to life.

Honored to announce that I have been nominated for my second Emmy® Award for OUTSIDE LINE, the short documentary I directed and produced about NASCAR driver .

OUTSIDE LINE tells the story of Rajah Caruth, a Washington DC native who has forged a path as a rising star in NASCAR, one of only five Black drivers in the sport and among the very few who got their start with virtual racing. The film follows him as he prepares for a bold new chapter in his racing career.

The film has been playing at film festivals across the United States, and will be streaming online at a later date. More information about current and upcoming festival screenings can be found at jackgfilms.com/outsideline.
