Hello everyone,

I’m excited to share a little corner of my world with you. I’ve recently embarked on a journey of caregiving, and it’s been quite the adventure. Sometimes it’s filled with laughter, sometimes with tears, but it’s always a rich and rewarding experience.

Caring for someone can be both a challenge and a gift. There are days when it feels like everything is going wrong, but then there are those moments of pure joy and connection that make it all worth it. It’s a role that allows me to be my true self—compassionate, resilient, and, yes, a bit messy at times.

In this blog, I’ll be sharing my stories, insights, and reflections on this caregiving journey. I hope that by opening up about my experiences, I can offer support, encouragement, and maybe a few smiles to others who are on a similar path.

Thank you for joining me in this space. I look forward to sharing more with you and hearing about your own experiences as well.

Wow! Paris is absolutely amazing, especially for a fashion enthusiast like me! So, here are a few things I've noticed during my first visit to the City of Fashion: First off, it seems like leggings aren't the go-to choice for pants here, and from what I've seen, very few Parisian women actually wear them – maybe just around 5! Also, those big frames from the 80s? They're totally making a comeback for glasses and sunglasses! Can you believe it? I'm still deciding how I feel about that trend. And oh, let's talk about makeup – it's all about that light or natural look here in Paris. It's like the epitome of Parisian chic!

Hello Everyone. For 2 years I paused my business to help my parents. Starting the business back up is very scary for me. Thank you for all the likes, shares, and purchases it's making the reopening much easier and exciting.

And let's not forget about the woman who taught me how to sew and encouraged me to be creative. Mommy to me ❤️

When everything changed

July 2021, summer little did I know that my comfortable world in Oakland would never be the same.

That summer I became the caretaker for my 80 year old parents. That summer I became the guardian, nurse, counselor, ref and sometimes boss.

That summer I would be challenged with living my values. Self, family and career in that order. I had no idea how hard it would for me to leave my secure known world for the day to day uncertainty that life as my parents caretaker would bring.

On a good day my Mother turned to me and said, I like you, I really like you as the person you have grown to be. You’re a wonderful person, smart and capable.

I like you!

The days are hard and the nights are long. And as I continue to realign my life to focus on my parents, I remember that my Mother likes and loves me. With those words in mind I take each day as a gift.

My career is on hold indefinitely, I chose to live my values. I’m still working on new things for Iva Jewell slowly and surely. Stay tuned!

2021: the summer of helping my parents transitioned to moving back home to help, support and protect my parents.

My days are filled with meds, doctor appointments, blood pressure checks (mine not theirs) and zoom meetings. Sometimes my days ends in tears.

Rounding out 2021 I realized I am grateful that I am here to support and protect my parents.

Let’s go 2022!!!
I will be persistent
I will be resilient
I will support, protect and love my parents

I will continue to bet on myself!
